if for some reason you care about collecting our EP in all formats, first and second pressing copies of cassettes are scattered about some fine distros. Quiet Year Records has the whole batch (+ is due credit for this photo), Ozona Records has a couple of greenies left over, and Seizure Man just acquired a handful and wrote some nice things about us to boot. UK distro time as a color also has a couple copies for those across the pond.
we’ll soon be issuing a very limited third pressing of the cassettes that will likely only be available at THE FEST. and, as always, you can pre-order Profanity on vinyl from Flannel Gurl Records. get on that.

You can purchase the left cover with a black tape here.

Who It Is: Breath of an Epoch – perennial; Ef! Gurlz Records (2014)

What It Sounds Like: emo/jazz, George Costanza, Mylets

Review:

Breath of an Epoch describe themselves as “angsty kids who yell at things.” It’s a pretty common description for emo bands these days. Yet they don’t play typical emo. These three “kids” mix emo, math rock, and jazz. On paper, this almost doesn’t look like it would function. Math rock is precise and technical. Emo isn’t supposed to sound crisp or well produced. Jazz can be played as sloppily as you want or as precise as possible. Breath of an Epoch mixes sloppy jazz with the lyrics of emo music, while throwing in the technical stylings of math rock, and makes it work.

These dudes rule, and they’re featured on the Man the Capstan… CSD compilation.

We’re gonna be a day late shipping out “Man the Capstan…” orders!

Just a heads up to all those that ordered a copy before Saturday. They’re all packed up, but I missed the PO.
